Return to School (5th Year Students) March 2012

Fri, Mar 12th, 2021

Re: Return to School of 5th Year Students

Dear Parents/Guardians of 5th Year Students,

As you know, the 5th Year students will return to the classroom from Monday next, March 15th. We are all looking forward to having them back in the building and we all hope that they will have a successful, enjoyable and uninterrupted run-in to the end of the school year. The 6th Years have now successfully completed two weeks back at school and everything has gone extremely well.

Their Year Head, Ms Daly, and I spoke with the 5th Year students at an on-line Assembly on Wednesday and they were given the key information about their return. It is extremely important, now that the school is reopening, that we do everything possible to keep it open. Students must continue to behave, both inside and outside of school, in such a way as to minimise the risk of their being positive cases within the school community.

There are new protocols around students returning to the classroom and these include filling out a Declaration regarding their health status. There are two forms, as follows:

  • If your son/daughter is over 18 years old, they complete the Covid-19 Student Declaration (see attached).
  • If your son/daughter is not yet 18 years old, you must complete the Covid-19 Parental Declaration (see attached).
  • Your son/daughter, on their return to school on Monday must bring a completed and signed copy of the form relevant to them. Many of them have already collected forms from the School Office.

More generally, please note the following:

  • School Meals will resume for 5th Year students from Monday 15th, the day of their return.
  • Evening Supervised Study (3.50-5.50pm) is available for 5th Year students from Monday 15th

If you require further information or clarification on any of the above, or in relation to any other matter concerning your son/daughter, do not hesitate to contact the school through this email address or by phoning the School Office (01-2828126).

Kind regards,

John Murphy,

Principal.
