“St Kilian’s C.S has a state of the art multimedia library funded by the Junior Certificate Schools Programme.
One of only thirty JCSP Libraries in the country we boast a full time professional librarian in a dynamic, creative and energetic space at the heart of the school.
Resources are carefully chosen and regularly updated to appeal to all, from the most reluctant reader to the most avid bookworm. In addition to books the library holds CDs, DVDs, newspapers and magazines. A suite of PCs is available for research and multimedia posts allow for quick internet browsing and listening to audio books.
The school is committed to the national literacy and numeracy strategy and the library works closely with teachers to run focused initiatives in these areas.
The library hosts a wide range of visitors across the school year from authors, poets and storytellers to film makers, coding working shops, musicians and others.
Open before school, after school and during break times the library can be haven of quiet or a space for shared learning. After school clubs hosted by the library include homework club, book club and board games club.
