Collaborations
Amgen
Since 2016, through the Business in the Community programme, the school has had a partnership with Amgen, a major U.S. biomedical company, that has a major facility in Dún Laoghaire. The school, and its students, have benefitted greatly from this partnership through:
- Involvement with the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE)
- Careers events
- Plant visits
- Donations of ICT equipment
Other current very successful collaborations include:
- St. Fergal’s National School (close neighbours and collaborators on a wide range of initiatives)
- Evros Technology Group (from Spring 2019, Evros is taking St Kilian's CS on board as an educational partner; this has been organised through Ms Sharon O'Reilly, a past pupil and director of the company)
- Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK supports the school and its students through its corporate responsibility programme, providing careers advice and volunteering time in enhancing the school environment)
- Creative Schools Initiative (one of five Wicklow schools involved; Mr Brian Cregan is the school's Creatve Associative)
- Creative Engagement (the school is involved with this NAPD initiative for the first time in 2018-2019)
- Post Primary Languages Initiative (Japanese for TY, and Saturday Japanese & Russian classes for 5th and 6th Years)
- Ms. Annie Egan, Solicitor (Street Law programme for TY)
- Walton Club, TCD (Saturday STEM programme)
- Sylvester Byrne (musical instrument making with senior students)
- Sports Promotion Unit, KWETB (whole-school fitness initiatives)
