St Kilian's Community School College & Careers Awareness Week 2023

Many thanks to all of the college and industry representatives and past pupils from St Kilian’s for their contribution to this year's College & Careers Awareness Week.

Bray Institute of Further Education, Louise Beirne, Zurich Insurance, Michael Conlon, Technological University Dublin , Lucy Tierney Blackrock Further Education Institute, Aoife Byrne Trinity Access Programmes, @Fiona Mcloughlin Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology for their excellent presentations on a range of college and career options available to 5th and 6th year students on completion of their Leaving Certificate.

On Tuesday, December 5th,  5th and 6th Year students had an opportunity to network with current 3rd-level students. Many thanks to the 20 past-pupils who participated, representing courses in:

All contributed to an informative and motivating experience for the 6th Year students, who are now considering their career and CAO options.

The Day in the Life Apprenticeship Networking Event took place on Thursday, December 7th. On this occasion, students learnt about apprenticeship routes to rewarding careers in:

  • Mechanical and electrical engineering,
  • Accountancy,
  • Financial services
  • Recruitment
  • and IT.

Student Council 2024-2025

St Kilian's Community School has an energetic, engaged and extremely effective Student Council that provides great leadership to the student body and ensures that Student Voice is to the fore on all important matters.

Leaving Certificate and LCA Results 2024

19 Aug

The Leaving Cert and LCA results will be issued on Friday, August 23rd. Students can access their results through the Student Portal from 10.00am and all students are welcome to visit the school from that time too.
Key school staff will be there to support you on this important day.

Return to School 2024-2025

A very warm welcome back to school to all of our students! A special welcome to our new 1st Years and to the many new students who have transferred into other Year Groups.

Full details of Induction Days are attached and were also sent to all families through Compass earlier in the summer.

State Examinations 2024

TY Parents' and Guardians' Night 2024

Another very successful Transition Year was brought to a close with the annual TY night for parents and guardians on May 30th. Students made presentations outlining the many fantastic experiences they had throughout the year, including the musical, the Killary and Belfast trips, work experience and a wide range of other activities. There was also time for lots of awards and for the students' portfolios to be viewed by all the guests. The evening was a great celebration of all the growing up and maturing that had taken place throughout the year. Best wishes to all of these fine students in their Senior Cycle.


6th Year Graduation 2024

23 May

The 6th Years had their night in the spotlight on the evening of Thursday, May 23rd at the school's sports hall.
This year's graduating class had 'Like a butterfly, their wings unfolded....' as their theme. It was a very special night of reminiscing and celebrating and wishing this fine group of young people the very best in their future lives. Everyone joined with their Year Head, Mr. Enda Forde, in expressing great pride in the Class of 2024.


Music & Culture Week 2024

26 Jan

This year's Music and Culture Week, from January 22nd to 26th, had a full programme of musical, dance and art activities. Highlights of the week included performances by the Garda Band and a performance of a Bach cantata, which is part of the Leaving Cert music curriculum. This recital, featuring a group of professional singers and musicians, including past-pupil Ross Scanlon, was attended by senior music students from other local schools and was a tremendous success. Everyone was also wowed by an excellent art exhibition, featuring the work of current and past-pupils.


Multicultural Day 2024

This year's Multicultural Day was held on Friday, January 26th and had a range of events including Brazilian Capoeira and African Drumming workshops. As in other years, the centrepiece of the day was a major food fair with, and this year forty families, representing twenty-three different nationalities and cultures, were involved.
