4th and 5th Year Paris Trip

A group of thirty-three 4th and 5th Year students will visit Paris from February 23rd to 26th on an Art and Cultural trip, organised by Ms Hume.
While there, they will visit all of the major museums, cathedrals and other major sights and will also spend a day at Versailles. Evening events include a boat trip on the Seine and a visit to the Eiffel Tower.
We wish them Bon Voyage!


First Year Camogie Success!

Congratulations to the First Year Girls Camogie team who won the Wicklow Indoor competition, beating Scoil Chonglais, Baltinglass in the final in Aughrim on February 12th.
Well done to all concerned, and a big thank you from everyone to the team's coach, Ms O'Shea.


Adela Hunt (6th Year) is 2014 winner of European Commission translation competition

Congratulations to Adela Hunt (6th Year) who has won the 2014 Juvenes Translatores award for Ireland. Adela is among the 28 students from each EU Member State who will travel to Brussels in April for an award ceremony hosted by the European Commission Vice-President, Kristalina Georgieva.


Multi-Cultural Day

The school's first Multi-Cultural Day will be held on Friday, January 30th 2015.
This will be a celebration of the diverse cultures and nationalities in our school community, through music, food, games, face-painting, performances and activities.


Operation Transformation!!!

St. Kilian’s Community School has registered for Operation Transformation 2015. Led by Ms Brophy and Mrs Dodd, the aim is to improve the fitness levels and health of our Students, Staff members and Parents.
The focus areas are: Healthy Eating, Fitness and Well-Being. There will be weekly targets and a group activity, such as Zumba, every Wednesday afternoon.

Supporting Mental Health (Headstrong)

Parents and Guardians are strongly encouraged to attend a talk given by Headstrong on Thursday, January 8th at 7pm at the school. The school has been involved with Headstrong over the past two years and highly recommends its approach to understanding and supporting the mental health of our students, your sons and daughters.

Guidance Update (HEAR, DARE)

HEAR/DARE application clinics will take place this Saturday, January 10th at D.I.T. Aungier Street from 10am to 2pm.
This is an opportunity for students and parents/guardians to get individual help and advice with their applications.

Young Social Innovators

23 Nov 2014

Ten Transition Year students, as part of their Enterprise Studies module, have undertaken a major project on Homelessness. Ably led by their teacher, Ms Brophy, they have established links with WH Five Loaves and the Peter McVerry Trust. Initiatives already undertaken include a Funk Shoe Day at the school and an awareness campaign at the recent Ireland v USA game at the Aviva Stadium. Their efforts have been retweeted by, among others, Miriam O'Callaghan and Seán Moncrieff.
