It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ms Kate D'Arcy, a member of the school's teaching staff. Ms D'Arcy passed away on Thursday evening, October 9th, after a year-long illness.
On behalf of the whole school community, the Board of Management extends its sympathy to Ms D'Arcy's husband Pat, her children, her mother and her extended family and friends.

This year’s Open Night will take place on Thursday, October 10th, from 6.45 pm to 9.00pm. This is a great opportunity for families to gain a new experience of life at St Kilian’s. Please encourage your friends to come along too. All are welcome!
Congratulations to those students who received such great Junior Certificate today, and to their families, their teachers and all other school personnel who helped them over the line.
Congratulations, too, to the 6LCA class, who recently received fantastic results for their 5th Year work. A remarkable 12 out of 17 students received a Distinction grade! Well done to everyone!
St Kilian’s is the pilot school for a new programme with the UCD Access Office, called EMBED. The idea was developed with Dr Daniel Crean, a past-pupil and now an Assistant Professor in the School of Veterinary at UCD. The initiative involves Dr Crean being based at the school every Tuesday morning until Christmas. In cooperation with the school’s Guidance Team, he is leading a mentoring programme with the 6th Years.
Mr Gerry Dunne has retired from his position as Biology/Science/Maths teacher, which he has held since 1984. Over those years, Mr Dunne made an invaluable contribution to the school and its students and built a wonderful reputation as a highly skilled, dedicated and caring teacher. We wish him a long and happy retirement.
From September 4th to 9th, five 6th Year students, Naoise O’Connell, Amy Howick, Nicole Keogh, Kayleigh Howick and Dylan O’Toole, accompanied by their Year Head, Ms Maeve Taaffe, took part as helpers on the Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. This is the tenth year of the school’s involvement with the pilgrimage.
Welcome back to all students and staff for the 2019-2020 school year.
A special welcome to our new First Year students and to the 30+ new students who have transferred to St Kilian's from other local schools and from further afield.
We hope that the new school year will be a happy and successful one for everyone.
Heartiest congratulations to the Class of 2019 on their excellent results in both the Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA). Best wishes to everyone in the year ahead.
Best wishes to all of our Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied and Junior Certificate students in their examinations over the next three weeks!
We hope that all of your hard work will be rewarded.
You can download the examination timetables here.
In March 2019, the DES Inspectorate conducted a Whole School Evaluation at St Kilian's. These inspections take place about every ten years or so.
The report has now been published and we are delighted to say that it is extremely positive. The full report can be downloaded here, along with a summary that was published in the school's newsletter in July 2019.
