State Examinations & End of the 24-25 School Year

Fri, May 30th, 2025

Dear Parents, Guardians,

As we have reached the end of the school year, I would like to thank you all for the support you have given to the school since the school year began in August 2024. It has been a highly successful year, marked by notable achievements in academics, sports, and music, along with many other areas of school life. Your sons and daughters have contributed greatly to these successes, and you should be very proud of them, as we also are.

Please note the following:

           State Examinations

  • The State Examinations will begin next Wednesday, June 4th. Please see the attached timetables for full details of dates and times.
  • Students must be at school at least 30 minutes in advance of their first exams and at least 15 minutes in advance of all other exams.
  • Study facilities will be available at the school before and between exams, and at times when your son/daughter is not scheduled for exams.
  • Full school uniform must be worn by all students.
  • Please encourage your son/daughter to eat well, to get lots of sleep, fresh air and exercise, and to look after themselves and their friends at this stressful time.
  • Please contact the School Office if you need any clarification of the arrangements or in relation to any other concerns that you might have.
  • We wish all students the very best of luck over the next few weeks and we hope that all of their hard work will be rewarded.

         Books & Uniforms

  • All 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th Year students should, by now, have emptied their lockers and returned all of their books to Room 33. Those who haven't done this yet, please do so without delay.
  • 3rd and 6th Year students should do likewise when their exams have finished.
  • If you wish to donate any unwanted uniforms, you can do this in bins provided at the school.

         Summer Arrangements & Reopening

  •  The school building will be completely closed for the month of July, to facilitate the final stage of the replacement of the school's heating system. The School Office will be open for normal hours outside of these times.
  • 1st, 3rd and 5th Year students, and the Prefects, will start the new school year on Friday, August 22nd.
  • 2nd, 4th and 6th Year students will start on Monday, August 25th.
  • Full details regarding calendar, books, etc. will be shared with you in the coming weeks.

Best wishes are extended to all of our students and their families for a safe and happy Summer break.

Kind regards,

John Murphy
Principal.
