The motto on the crest of St Kilian’s is criss firinne immib, meaning “a belt of truth (or righteousness) around you”.
This sentence of Old Irish is taken from a ninth-century manuscript written by Irish monks in Würzburg Germany, where our partner school is located.
The school’s first mission statement was: "St. Kilian’s works to ensure that each and every pupil is enabled to learn to the best of his/her ability and to mature with confidence and dignity".
We still strive to do this.
