St. Kilian's Community School, Ballywaltrim, Bray

Good Luck!

Tue, Jun 8th, 2021

Dear 6th Years,

I’m just contacting you to wish you all the very best of luck over the next three weeks. I hope that you will use this opportunity to finish everything out on your own terms.

Just a few thoughts and pieces of information:

  • I have attached the Leaving Cert and LCA Timetables, with which you are probably by now very familiar.

  • Please be in the school at least thirty minutes before your first examination which, for most of you, is tomorrow.

  • The Centre/Room numbers are posted at the main door, so you will see where you need to go and where you will be based for your exams.

  • All of the school’s Covid-related measures still apply. Please continue to socially distance, use hand-sanitiser and wear a face mask.

  • Full school uniform is to be worn.

  • Room 41 is available as a quiet, study area before and between exams.

  • Water, fruit and snacks will be available in Room 41 and at various points around the school, near the centres.

  • Noreen will be based at Ms Daly’s kitchen (Room 29). She will make sandwiches/rolls for whoever would like something. You can place an order with her in the morning for collection after your exam, or just drop down when your exam is over.

  • You will be aware that there has been a Covid outbreak in Limerick which has meant that some students there won’t be able to take exams. Please hang in there for a short time more and behave in ways which will maximise your own and your friends’ chances of sitting the exams.

  • Please talk to us if you are worried, anxious or feeling pressure at this time. Likewise, if you are concerned about a friend. We will support you.

  • If you opted to take exams when you were on the Student Portal, then it is probably still a good idea to take them. Don’t make any last-minute decisions – please talk to us first.

  • If there are any changes in your plans, can you please let us know? On days of exams, we follow up on absent students, and are working on the assumption that those registered for exams will be attending, subject by subject.

Again, the very best of luck to everyone! Do your best and look after yourselves and one another.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone involved tomorrow.

Mr John Murphy, Principal.
